Download complete website for offline reading

Life is dynamic , we don’t know when it will take another turn from the comfort zone. Life always take us to all the places & sometime we don’t have 3G, 4G, WiFi connection or simply a internet connection and you need to access some contents of your favorite website very badly. Sometime you have to stop using the website if the internet stop working.

You can download  any entire website or single page of any website into your hard disk , so that you can access the content of the website in offline mode from your hard disk. You may save your favorite recipes , you can download some entire educative sites like W3school that have free resources , or you can download to get your hand dirty with the web programming codes :)
Don’t try this on giant website like Wikipedia, it will need some Tbs of space in your HDD.
You may download  the entire website or a single  selected web page , or you can download only the video , audio & image files by enabling the filter.

We have several ways to copy a website but the best & friendly option is by using a website copier software . So all you need the very popular download manager , IDM(Internet Download Manager) . If you don’t have IDM then you can go for HTTrack which has been specially programmed to copy web pages and freely available. You can grab them from the links below:

So lets get started with Internet Download Manager.
Install  and open IDM.  Look at the right side of the icons , there is a option of ‘Grabber’  with icon of globe & forceps.

Enter a project name for example: My College Website
in the next  box enter the address of the website that you want to copy. Example: http://abcdweb.com
In the next option ‘custom template’  where you have to choose whether you want to download only the video files , audio files , images, all files in the website except web pages, complete website or leave it as custom settings and click next.

In the next window you have to select whether you want to save the files in the folders according to the file types, or save into a custom folder.  To prevent confusions you should save the files in a single folder, just click on ‘all files to the following folder’ and browse to select a folder. Click next and in the next window select ‘Explore the whole site’

In the next window you can filter the files that you want to download and the files that you don’t want to download. From the first drop down list select the file types that you want to download & from the second drop down list select the file types if you down want to download them, else leave them as they are. click on next
.

Wait for some time until the download is completed, when its done click next & save the project. Enjoy the offline mode.
